Construction concludes on Palácio de Mafra restoration

The works in front of the National Palace of Mafra is completed, in order to apply for world heritage recognition. The project consisted of removing the parking from the front of the palace and paving the wide path to the palace (Terreiro D. João V). The reorganization of car traffic and restriction of this area is only two lanes in both directions. The town said that car traffic has been restored and is missing the construction of pavements and the creation of a visitor reception center, next to military school.

Work kicks off at Vila Galé Palácio dos Arcos

The new Paço d'Arcos hotel of the Vila Gale Group has is currently being built west of Lisbon on the Estoril Coast. Located in Paco d'Arcos, the Palace of the Arches, Vila Gale will create a luxurious five-star hotel, built around an ancient palace from the fifteenth century. Once completed and fully operational, the hotel will offer 76 rooms, five of them inside the former palace. Leisure facilities include a modern spa with steam bath, sauna, jacuzzi and heated indoor pool.


Adega Machado reopens

The Adega Machado Fado house in Bairro Alto reopened under new management with contemporary decor and new venues. Closed for more than three years, the winery reopens with three distinct spaces: a lounge with 75 seats and a la carte service, a modern winery with a capacity for 30 people and service of wine glass and gourmet snacks, and a terrace outdoors. Both the cellar and terrace can be reserved for groups and events, including short presentations of fate.
