Pousada de Óbidos expands to open 8 more rooms

Set in an ancient castle, atop a walled village, the Pousada de Óbidos has added eight more rooms. Under the Grupo Pestana, the Pousada has been remodeled and expanded under the design work of João Filipe Vaz Martins. The new rooms are named for queen that spent the night in the castle walls.

Ferreira do Zêzere’s biggest omelet makes it into the Guinness Book

The town of Ferreira do Zêzere cooked up the world’s largest omelet with a weight of 6,466 kilos, or some 161,650 eggs, smashing the old record. It cost a mere 30,000 euros to do. For the record, Ferreira do Zêzere produces 520 million eggs a year, the biggest egg producing area in Portugal.
