Hotel Termal do Cró to be completed in late 2013

The Hotel  Termal do Cró  near Sabugal (Centro de Portugal Region) is due for completion in December 2013. The hotel unit will be built alongside a new thermal spa, and represents an investment of about three million euros. The hotel, located in Rapoula Côa will be a "Natura Resort", which is already managing the spa. The Hotel & Spa will have four stars, 30 rooms (24 doubles, two doubles and four superior suites), and also containing an auditorium.
 

Hotel Memmo Alfama is scheduled to open during 2013

The hotel Memmo Alfama is integrated in Moorish Wall, a national monument, and has a 4-star rating. It is the second hotel from Memmo Hotels property group after Memmo Baleeira in Sagres.

 

Lisbon’s Bairro Alto Hotel reopens after total renovation

Located in an historic building from 1845, the Bairro Alto Hotel in Lisbon reopened February 1, 2013 with renovated rooms, public areas, restaurant and boutique. It 5-star service remains the same.

The Bairro Alto Hotel underwent renovation in an investment of approximately € 600,000. Every hotel rooms as well as all public spaces were refurbished allowing for even more comfort and luxury – and featuring new furnishing and modern touches.

The restaurant, under a new name, offer sa totally different feel, but keeps its focus on typical Portuguese cuisine, with quality products and a kitchen under the charge of Chef Vasco Lello.

The Boutique was renovated and now has products by Elements Contemporary Jewelery in a venue dedicated to contemporary jewelry by both Portuguese and foreign designers.

"This investment in upgrading the hotel underlines our commitment to continue to be a benchmark in hospitality to our customers, providing them with excellent service and offer even more distinctive lodgings. With our combined experience, we intend to offer more, while maintaining the status of Best Boutique Hotel in Europe, " says Marta Tavares da Silva, administrator of the Bairro Alto Hotel.

During the two months renovation, employees of the Bairro Alto Hotel got extensive training and expertise in several areas, with the goal of raising increasingly service standards of quality Bairro Alto Hotel. A requirement that meets the standards of The Leading Hotels of the World, a network which the Bairro Alto Hotel is a member of since its opening.

Since 2005 putting Lisbon on the map of destinations of charm

Since 2005, the Bairro Alto Hotel has welcomed guests from various international markets to visit the Hotel either for work or for leisure wants. The Mercado do Bom Sucesso redevelopment project, an investment of 12 million euros, will create a new market concept in Portugal with a Musica hotel. This 4-star hotel will have 85 rooms, with the sale of fresh food. With an innovative concept in line with the urban markets of Sao Miguel in Madrid, there will be a section devoted to fresh produce (fish, fruit, flowers and spices) and other points of sale of products that serve gourmet tapas, snacks and beverages and six fashion stores.

 

Alentejo Welcomes unprecedented tourism project in the arenas of riding and bullfighting

The village of Montoito, in the Alentejo, is the home to a tourism project considered unprecedented in Portugal: one dedicated to the world of horses and bullfighting, an investment of more than 700 thousand euros. The Lusitaurus Equestrian and Bullfighting Center is set on a small farm in Montoito near Redondo. The owner of the center, António Martins, calls the project "unprecedented" in Portugal, and that this market segment is "not yet explored" in the country.  "It's an area with little or no competition and as the horses and bulls are quite entrenched in Portugal’s culture, so we decided to focus on this aspect," he said. The Lusitaurus Center will offer all kinds of equestrian activities, such as riding lessons, workouts for riders, lessons in bullfighting on foot, Forcado training (the art of bull wrestling) equestrian touring and horseback riding. The space is equipped with a swimming pool bar, restaurant and eight apartments with 10 rooms. “This is bold investment that is unique,” Martins said.
